This underscores the need for proactive diplomacy and strong<br>regional cooperation to prevent the escalation of conflicts and ensure long-term stability<br>and prosperity.<br>The illegitimate, illegal, and unprovoked war initiated by Russia against Ukraine has<br>profound implications for the entire Black Sea region, creating a significant imbalance<br>and multiple challenges for all the coastal states. This paradigm highlights the importance<br>of regional cooperation and preventive diplomacy to restore equilibrium and maintain<br>security in this strategic area.<br>From Romania's perspective, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine in the Black<br>Sea region has deep and diverse implications. This year actually<br>represents what democracy also means “government of the people, by the people, for the<br>people”. Society is in constant motion, precisely for this reason the need for people to keep<br>up with new technologies and to adapt quickly is more and more important and this fact<br>can also be observed during this election period. Classical democracy has had to adapt and<br>respond to the new challenges brought by artificial intelligence. But, “Which is the<br>impact of artificial intelligence on democracy?” is the question that led to the creation of<br>this research study.<br>The negative effects that artificial intelligence has had over time on democratic<br>processes have been reiterated in specialized literature, but from the perspective of the<br>benefits that artificial intelligence brings to them is a topic that still needs research and a<br>research topic for future studies in the field. This is also the reason why the research<br>hypothesis of the study is “The positive effects of artificial intelligence on democracy”. To<br>validate the hypothesis, the study using the descriptive method started from the<br>presentation of the evolution of artificial intelligence systems, to the current challenges<br>brought to it, then analyzing the way in which the regulations at the international level,<br>as well as the European Union respond to them.
